Our Pastor
Pastors Morakinyo is our Lead Pastor at The Upward Church.
Pastor Morakinyo Olumodimu has more than two decades of leading non-profit and for profit organizations. A graduate of New York University, he holds a Ph.D. from Tulane University. An adroit academic in Linguistic Anthropology, his research works have appeared in national and international journals in Sociolinguistics, Globalization, Ethnic Studies, and Musicology.
Dr. Morakinyo has served his generation as a Fulbright scholar, Research Professor, church planter, President of High School Scripture Union Fellowship, President of University Joint campus Christian fellowship, President of Leadership Vision International, Bible College Graduate Programs Director and Executive Vice President of a United States Management and Training Consortium resident in Baltimore county. He is a leadership and management consultant. He pastors RCCG The Upward Church in Clarksville, Maryland and serves as the National President for Young Adults and Singles Ministry (YASM) for RCCG USA.
His life assignment is to strengthen, shapen and sharpen people with divine assignments. He is presently devoting his life to helping young men and women fulfill their dreams in life through his web resources, coaching and mentoring, management consulting, leadership intensives, research analytics, book publishing and speaking engagements. Pastor Morak is a loving husband and a very proud father.

What to Expect
Our Upward Family invites you to a time of divine impartation and worship. Divine word, prayers, and fellowship are our key focuses for every gathering. Join us and see what it means to grow your faith at The Upward Church!
Either through worship, prayers, divine word from different speakers, social media posts, or even a simple chat with any member is enough for God to speak to you and encounter you at The Upward Church. We are thankful for the Spirit and Power of God in our midst and love for you to experience that! Our ultimate goal is to bring everyone to Christ!
A place for Children. With children's classes and sessions, we develop and stimulate the minds of the younger generation, bringing them closer to Christ and increasing their knowledge of Him.
A place for Teens. The Uprisers - our teens church and fellowship is designed to create a community of believers in the next generation! Our teenagers meet several times in a month with times for discussion and games.
A place for Young Adults. Our Young Adults and Singles Ministry is built with the ultimate focus on personal connection to God and fulfilment of Purpose in the rising generation of leaders and business professionals. There is also fellowship times to connect, network, and meet other Young Adults and Singles at The Upward Church!
